I set this sucker on loop for like an hour bro \m/
Your songwriting is on point man, the transitions from verse, pre-chorus, and chorus are so smooth!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

An HOUR! Honestly, that's really awesome, man. Glad you dig it. I got a super crazy one coming soon, with that other dude again. 10 minutes of insanity!! Looping that for an hour won't even be repetitive.

Miss ya bro.

Coincidentally I just listened through your band's music on Bandcamp a few days ago. I agree, I think this would be an excellent track for y'all to adopt. Great re-recording man, the comparison between this and the original is an unbelievable improvement in quality. It's nice to have so many old tracks to refer back to! I cringe at everything I did throughout my teens, but I have gone back to adopt some riffs myself ;)
If I were to be more constructive, I would recommend giving your drummer room for creative changes - not because anything here is bad or weak, I just think your drummer's style is great and unique. I am sure you would have done that anyway, but just wanted an excuse to remind you that you've got a sick drummer :)

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

DUUDE! Thanks brotha! I'm glad you listen to our stuff. We have a few new ones finally. Maybe an albums worth again. As for my drummer - oh yeah - I already know what he's going do to this one. I can't wait. Just needs band approval. I haven't been writing much for the band - one of my guitarist has put forward a few. Some stuff I write now, is too heavy for what we are doing. And that's ok!

This re write was close to the original, as a friend of mine, absolutely loved the old version. So updating it for him, was a fun thing to do, and It made me remember why I love the song too.

Thanks as always, man. I'm always super pumped to hear from you!!!

Man, if my slow-cooker heard this, it would become a broiler >:(

I am late to catch on to this upload, but I am glad to have stumbled on a new one from you both. This has excellent production quality dudes. Loved that transition coming after "out of sight", very epic sound. Dope guitar solo before that too! I've been experimenting with more bends in my riffs too, so this was right up my alley.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks broseph. Collab one day, for old time sake!!! <3

You could have saved the upload for the shittiest of all days - Tuesday - but that's when you got frontpage'd, so I guess you've been recognized on the day that counts. I did only discover this now though, my Tuesday done flew by.

Yes, I've listened twice because this shit is like drinking an iced tea while watching people move your furniture. Experiencing the heavy through the hands and grunts of others. The vocals are really well mixed and have a lot of depth in this, did you do the mix on this track? The instrumental is phenomenal too, sounds like Spiritbox.

As for Artificial Intelligence, it ain't replacing you and Nick, y'all are on another level with this music production. Hearing this has made me realize I am just not utilizing all of the guitar layers that I should be, those leads and vocal layers are symphonic in a way that makes me rethink my life. Congrats, both of you!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Sorry for the late reply, my friend.
Tuesdays, indeed suck.

Thanks for the words, brother - but you are one of the ones who set me on this path of audio destruction, so mad respect to you and your sound.

I did mix the vocals on an earlier version - the version that is up, is his mix and effects. Pretty good, I say. More reverb than I add - I like dry and add echo where I need richness. haha.

I dig working with this guy and definitely more to come, and I'm glad you come out and let me know what you think. you're one of my music dads, even though I'm twice your age. lol

This is such an interesting musical composition, I love it! I can't explain why it reminds me of Opeth, but the note choices have this mysterious and sinister energy. Great work you two! This is a track I will be coming back to often :)

DanJohansen responds:

Thanks a lot man! Glad you dig it, I had never made a track like this before, so it was a fresh experience!

Holy fuck dog, that chorus got some real Whitechapel vibes \m/

The guitar and synth work is unreal man, I am really impressed!

Love the collab you two - keep them coming!

DanJohansen responds:

Appreciate it man! Got some other ideas cookin' in the oven :D Rock on! ]m/

Woah, the horns are menacing! \m/ It's like you've summoned Godzilla!
Well-deserving of a frontpage, as always. Songwriting, composition, sound, vocals and lyrics ... all perfect my guy.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

My friend, I'm so glad you got a chance to hear it, A lot of my inspiration comes from your music. :)

Sound design and you play guitar like this!? Dang man. Just dang.

This gives me a lot of Lamb of God vibes mixed with some thrash. I like the higher-note pull offs you threw in (0:54, for example).

kinamlo responds:

I kinda still play guitar like that, I recorded this quite a while ago. You've got some pretty good riffs yourself!

A solid ten to fifteen years ago, this would have had hundreds to thousands of listens a day. Unfortunately NewGrounds isn't the same community of music producers it once was, because you deserve so much attention for what you're making. I saw your comment about vocoding percussive elements and that's such a wild idea I have never though of but now I am so excited to try that on some things.

I gotta say, I loooove that reverse snare roll thing at 2:46-2:47, my only thought is that was such a cool trick that I think it could be a great moment in the music to let the drums have a momentary break with some sort of reverb/delay/distortion or something to make it pop. But, that's just a random thought - it's still fantastic.

kinamlo responds:

Sadly I didn't know of Newgrounds back in the day, and this track is actually from that time period... I had requests to put a couple old tracks up so they could be used in Geometry Dash levels, so I just uploaded a bunch of tracks I didn't have published anywhere.

Vocoding percussive stuff is hit and miss, but it can make for really interesting textures. You definitely should give it a go. I also recommend loading short samples into a convolution reverb.

How do you casually make this as a lil ditty? Lead guitar and all ... puts me to shame. You know I fucking love this. Love the overlapping "crush" vocals too! Ending with the clean dreamy sounds going back into that deep deep butthole ripping riffage is what I'm here for.

Make a new album my man, this is what metal is missing.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Ah, you run circles around me, my brother. I use the "ola" riff challenges for riff farming - so its a bunch of those ideas. It really helps when I'm strapped for creativity!

I got a new 7 string since this, cause it was soooooooooo frustrating on my jackson. I paid $250 for it, new - so really cheap. So I bought a good one cause I wanna make more.

Anyways, you're ridiculous and awesome. <3
